okay so when it comes down to it the best material for hash production are the trim, popcorn buds, and leaves.
remember that the leaves and trim have about one fifth of all the THC produced by the plant.
the stems I usually throw away because they don't have a lot of cannabinoids.
with a jeweler's loupe you will notice that the trichome's on fan leaves are often small while the trichomes close to the buds look like mushrooms and are stalked with bulbous caps these larger trichomes contain more cannabinoids than the smaller trichome's found on fan leaves.
if your starting material has visible trichomes than its usually good for making a marijuana extract, but immature material most of the times will produce very little extract because it simply just does not have a lot of cannabinoids.
so you should probably keep trim, popcorn bud and small leaves to make marijuana extracts and throw away material with the least amount of trichomes and cannabinoids like big leaves and immature material.
